My Mission Statement

My mission is to provide a successful and positive first grade learning experience for all of my students and to facilitate their academic, social, and personal growth.  I will accomodate all of the unique learning styles within my classroom by using a variety of resources and teaching materials.  I want to promote success for each individual student and have them reach their own "personal best" that they can be proud of. 

Our Learning Goals

We are off to a great start in first grade.  We have been establishing routines and procedures for our classroom. In reading we have started Theme 1 -All Together Now.  Visit the language arts page to find out more about it.  In math we are working on patterns, addition, and recognizing shapes.  In science we are investigating rocks in our Geology unit.  In social studies we are learning about rules and cooperation.  Finally, in writing we are working on writing complete sentences with capitals and periods.
